We recently published a very interesting post about 5 mysteries of humanity, and this time we want to offer you other great mysteries that have not been solved, mysteries that have to do with the conformation of our beloved, mistreated and unique planetary home.
Although there are plenty of research and scientists dedicated to unraveling these things, today there are only theories but none have been fully proven.
5 mysteries of the planet Earth not solved
1.What is in the Earth's core?
This question has inspired not only scientists but also writers, like Julio Verne with his famous novel Journey to the center of the earth .In the 40s of the last century it was thought that there were essential minerals in the core, such as iron and nickel , and that being absent from the earth's crust, they would be found there. In the 50s gravity measurements were made that ec they made the initial theory land.
Apart from the numerous assumptions, theories and calculations, scientists continue working to discover the elements that represent the density deficit in the nucleus, or to explain the periodic changes that the field undergoes Earth's magnetic by the liquid iron flowing in the outer core, but nothing is known with certainty.
2.Why is the moon where it is?
There are also no fixed answers to this question; There are 5 commonly accepted theories, and they are the capture by the Earth's gravitational field, fission, lunar co-formation, planetary collisions and the great impact of asteroids.
However, although there are some more grounded than others, there is no scientific consensus among these theories. There is none that answers all the questions about the beautiful terrestrial satellite.
3.Can we predict an earthquake?
There are certain mathematical, probability and statistical models, similar (though much less effective) to those used in meteorology and weather forecasting, but to predict earthquakes. They have not been as positive as one would like to know when there will be an important seismic movement.
Currently, although there are studies and experiments, there is still nothing that can predict the arrival of an earthquake.
4.What is the true origin of life on Earth?
From creationism to evolutionism , From explanations of extraterrestrial beings that populated the Earth millions and millions of years ago to the Neanderthal and Australopithecus, the truth is that we still don't know for sure how the hell we got here.
Although it is true that creationism is a pretty theory strong in many countries, the most logical and "objective" explanation is that life arose on Earth thanks to meteor impacts , which came loaded with water, and chemical substances and elements that generated and allowed rum the rise of life as we know it.As I said Carl Sagan : "We are all stardust."
5.Why is there so much oxygen on Earth?
This is another great unsolved mystery. We know that we owe our oxygen to cyanobacterial macroscopic , vital in the absolute and radical transformation of the atmosphere terrestrial How did it happen? As these cyanobacteria would pump oxygen as waste, a primitive photosynthesis , and this element filled the skies about 2.4 billion years ago .
Very very old rocks were studied and the Results revealed that oxygen levels rose and fell for a long time, until the amount grew noticeably to stabilize, about 450 million years ago.The reason why this happened is unknown.
Curious and interesting, don't you think? Do you know of any other unsolved mystery?
