There are questions about existence that can accompany us throughout life without ever obtaining a satisfactory or definitive answer: who are we ?, where do we come from ?, where are we going ?, or how long would it take a vampire in drink your blood really? Fortunately, thanks to a group of idle British researchers, we already have an answer to this last question, as you can read below.
How long do you think it would take a vampire to drink your blood? Discover the answer!
If you are a conscious vampire, of those who care for their suppliers (call these slaves, lovers or cattle), and not a glutton, capable of leaving you dry from a sitting or, more well, in one blow, it is likely that a vampire session will not exceed seven minutes .How do we know this? Thanks to four researchers from the University of Leicester (England), who conducted a study on the subject and whose results were published in the Journal of Phisics Special Topics .
These researchers set out of the hypothesis that the vampire has no intention of killing his donor, so in each session he does not suck more than 15% of a person's blood amount, about 750 cc, or three quarters of liter ; and they calculated that to transfer that amount through two holes of 0.5 millimeters, which more or less would come to be the bite of two human fangs, would take 6.4 minutes. An early sucker, but considered.
A total attack would imply that the vampire would let a person dry in less than 90 minutes and would not have to fear the arrival of the sun, as happened to Nosferatu in the classic film version of Murnau (1922) , and makes vampire attacks of the popular HBO television series, True Blood (2007-2014) more likely.
Maybe we would have to contrast these quantities with the literary, but real, relatives of these imaginary beings: Vampire bats .There are three species of hematophagous bats, all in America, and can be found from Mexico to Argentina, and they are not blood suckers, but lickers , that is, their technique consists in making incisions on their victims and then tongue the blood, using their saliva as an anticoagulant .Possibly due to their size they cannot compete in gluttony with their fictional relatives: they can only ingest between 20 and 40 cc per session, and in case that amount makes it very difficult that after a successful attack they can take the flight.
A vampire sated with blood is not usually as elegant and romantic as a hungry one and seductive, and in that perhaps literary vampires and American bats are identical.
So if you find yourself in the unlikely situation that a vampire will leave you without blood, you know you have very few minutes As a counterpart, read our article about true human blood drinkers.
