Julia has become one of the cases of demonic possessions more controversial in recent years, the reason? A well-known scientific authority decided to document the case as possession because it could not find a rational explanation.
The New Oxford Review magazine published an article on a possession case in March 2008 demonic, it was titled as: "Among so many fakes, a case of demonic possession" .What was really surprising was the author of the writing, the Dr.Richard E.Gallagher , recognized and respected psychiatrist from the United States, in addition to an associate professor at the Medical University of New York
A controversial case
The Doctor begins the article exposing the following:
“Amid widespread confusion and skepticism about this issue, the main purpose of this article is the document a current and very clear case , of demonic possession.Even those who doubt that such a phenomenon exists, can find the following example quite convincing. For clergymen, or even for each of those involved in the spiritual or psychological cure of others, it is equally essential to recognize the many and more common "counterfeits" (pervasive assignments) of both influences and demonic attacks.”
Julia is the pseudonym that Dr.Gallagher gives the possess , to protect the privacy of the However, if you offer a detailed description of this woman, it is a woman from the United States, white complexion, middle-aged, hardworking and completely independent.
Julia was raised in a Catholic family, but at As he grew older, he left aside the beliefs infused by his family and became interested in the paranormal, he even went further when he began to relate On with sects or satanic groups .After having participated in several demonic rituals, Julia began to feel attacked by supernatural forces, so she went to the Catholic Church in search of help.
The Catholic Church studies very well the cases that come before declaring them as a true possession, they go to psychiatrists to make evaluations with scientific weight in search of rational explanations for the disorders presented. Doctor Gallagher enters the stage, is contacted by the Church to evaluate Julia and determine if it was really a true possession or just a person with psychiatric disorders.
Unexplained events
It has no scientific explanation. What the Doctor observes while evaluating Julia, not only during the psychiatric consultations, but also later in the various sessions of exorcism that were practiced on this woman, is out of all logic.
These are just some of Dr.Gallagher's observations: Julia could speak fluently foreign languages that I had never met or studied before; the voice with which he proffered any amount of insults sounded like masculine and guttural ; he had an impressive gift of clairvoyance , he could accurately describe places, diseases, homes, names and even situations of team members and their families; it presented a supernatural force , 5 men were needed to hold it; in the place of exorcism there were sudden changes of temperature , it could happen from the extreme cold (even if it was a summer day), to the hottest heat; the objects in the room and even the shelves flew all over the place ; but without a doubt, the most impressive thing is that Julia levitated , on one occasion she remained suspended from the ground for 30 continuous minutes .
Dr.Gallagher concludes that while some of the symptoms presented by Julia could initially be considered as a psychiatric disorder , the final combination of all employers was something without possible explanation.
Most cases that come to the Catholic Church for possessions usually have a scientific explanation , but some few are simply extraordinary and there is no rational answer able to explain them, as is the case of Julia .
