The life of Frankenstein's author, Mary Shelley, marked by tragedies and quirky chronicles, surpasses her chilling masterpiece. She suffered misery, the death of her children, her family's rejection of falling in love and fleeing with whom she didn't they approved, the misfortune for the love affairs and rebuffs of her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley, and although there were plenty of reasons to hate him, it was her tragic death the last event that disrupted her.She loved him deeply.the memory of her sweet torment, I carry with her a part of which for the canons of the 21st century is spooky, but what do I keep and keep the author of Frankenstein as a precious treasure until the end of her days?
Do you know that I have been carrying the Frankenstein author for years? Nothing advisable...
The duel does not take a unique form.It is because of the complexity of being, that each one experiences it in different ways. What we all have in common is that when someone we love dies, we want keep her image alive with photographs or details that recall what it was.But British writer Mary Shelley left the conventions under the table and stayed with something more than a material good when her husband Percy Shelley died tragically.
On July 8, 1822 Percy Bysshe Shelley, who, like his wife, was passionate about letters and constantly traveling, set sail on his ship Ariel, from Livorno to return to Lerici, Italy, where he lived with his wife. The young poet was visiting Lord Byron, Leigh Hunt and Ed John Trelawny ward to finalize the creation of The Liberal , a newspaper in which they would capture their controversial writings and with which they would serve as counterpart to the conservative Tabloids of the time.It was only fifty kilometers of sea that it had to cross along the Gulf of Spezia, but the trajectory could not be completed.
Percy's ship, with a heavy structure, was shaken by an unexpected storm and for ten long days, Mary had no news of her whereabouts .Until they found her body on the shore of a beach.Percy Shelley had died drowned at age 29.
Upon her death a halo of mystery spins, there is who say that it was a suicide or that he was killed by some politicians because of his radical ideas, or that Percy was a terrible sailor.Even a story involving pirates came to be heard. But the story of the sinking in El Ariel had more felt by the state they were in raba the sailboat.
Mary, in the company of Hunt, Trelawny and Byron, incinerated the remains of Percy in the place where he was dragged by the tide, except for a part of which refused to burn...his heart.
A year after the death of Mary Shelley at age 53, for an alleged brain tumor, in 1851, his relatives found inside his desk the heart and portions of Percy's ashes wrapped in a sheet and a silk cloth, also found tufts of his deceased children and a notebook with poems. It was like the writer who shaped the story of a creature created with parts of corpses intended to be accompanied by those I love, beyond death.
Doctors explain that perhaps the heart Percy, the man with whom the author of Frankenstein escaped at age 16, could have resisted the fire because of a possible tuber losis that hardened her crust or perhaps it is a strange legend that also tells that the writer carried with her, everywhere, the organ of her husband, what do you think?
