We all know the serious inequalities present in our world. It does not stop calling our attention for example that half of the world's wealth is in 1% of the population , and that it is only these few who enjoy much of the economic benefits of our planet.Poverty, decay, climate change, social unrest...What is happening today? Is it perhaps the synonymous progress of decay? It seems that this decline is quite pronounced since a recent study by NASA itself tells us that the end of humanity may be closer than we think.
A world with too many differences
Such an alarming study has been carried out by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The conclusions were published recently by the British newspaper The Guardian .What we are going to say almost without anesthesia is that our civilization and way of life is so unsustainable that, at this rate, we run the risk of «collapsing».
The climate change or "The unsustainable exploitation of resources", go to the same measure as economic inequality, an inequality so bleeding that according to this study can only be controlled and planned by an elite of people located in the highest spheres. As a "Big Brother".
But how have they reached such conclusions? As they explain to us, the method of analysis is multidisciplinary and is based on the Handy model (English dimension of Human and Nature Dynamics). An analytical structure focused primarily on three dimensions: population-climate-energy.These three monsters of our present essential for the life and continuity of any civilization seem to be at war in an endless and incomprehensible battle.
Our society is clearly stratified on two sides, elites (rich) and the masses (poor) .Meanwhile, we exploit our resources and energy without mercy or reason. In addition, technological advancement does not help anything either. As we further develop our computers or the components of our mobile, cars or electrod omesticos, we hurry even more our industries and the exploitation of more energy. How far can we get with our consumerist desires? Will this abysmal class difference soften someday?
Through a series of algorithms, the team of scientific researchers of this NASA study tells us that to achieve some change and avoid collapse or the end of civilization would require a drastic change of the current political model. You will surely have outlined a skeptical smile when reading this, and you will also think that to arrive at this obvious conclusion neither very brave and complex brains are needed algorithmic theories. It is a reality.A more inequality, less resources for the population.A greater environmental and human exploitation, greater risk for the balance of the planet and for ourselves.Without doubt the perfect storm to intuit a really dark future.
Is there any hope then?
