Today we live interconnected in such a way that it is difficult to think that someone can disappear without leaving traces (although there are still cases that also include aircraft or large groups of people). It was not so in the last century, when it was not unusual that ships and airplanes disappear , and of course people, without having been able to determine the causes until today, as the cases we present below show, accompanied by a mystery of this millennium, which has not been resolved either.
3 Shocking disappearances of planes
The first three cases have to do with aircraft. The first is a military flight and begins at dusk on November 23 1953, on the border between the United States and Canada, when an F-89 Scorpion with two crew members takes off to intercept an unauthorized flight over Lake Superior.Seen on radar screens, the fighter approached its target about seven thousand feet of a And when they intercepted it, both points disappeared. In the following days no traces of a collision were obtained, nor any track that marked what happened to both aircraft .Nothing was heard from Lieutenants Felix Moncla and Robert Wilson.
In 1978 two private planes disappeared under strange circumstances .In Australia, Frederick Valentich went on a training flight and never came back. Before disappearing he reported that he had problems with the engine and was followed by another aircraft, although the air traffic controllers had no information of a second aircraft in the area. When asked to describe the other aircraft , he replied that it was not another aircraft .his body appeared, although if remains of the plane were found five years later.
That same year, but to the other year or side of the world, a private plane was about to land at the airport on the island of Saint Thomas, in the Caribbean, when the plane disappeared. On November 3 Irving Rios, pilot of a Navajo Piper , take off from the island of Saint Croix to look for passengers in Saint Thomas. The flight took place normally on a clear and clear day; Rios announced that he was about to land and was less than two miles from the airport, with the lights of the Piper in sight of the air traffic controller, and suddenly disappeared, without leaving the slightest trace to this day.
In all three cases there has been speculation about the presence of UFOs, but there is no further evidence, and other causes cannot be ruled out.
3 suspicious disappearances
On October 7, 1949, a beautiful young actress, Jean Spangler, left her little daughter with her stepsister and went to an encounter with her ex-husband, who did not get to give herself. The only clue was her bag, and in a na note mentioning a doctor and a certain Kirk , which led to the actor Kirk Douglas being investigated, although he was later dismissed as a possible suspect, if there was some crime.
His body never appeared.
The following case occurred in 1975, when Jackson Wright and his wife Martha drove from New Jersey to New York; crossing the Lincoln tunnel they stopped to clean the condensation glass, the windshield and she the back glass.
That was when Martha disappeared without leaving the slightest trace .Jackson was investigated and they were not achieved evidences that incriminate him, Martha simply vanished .
The last case we present to you is from this century, and although it seems a homicide case it could also point to the mystery. Ray Frank Gricar was a district attorney in Center County, Pennsylvania, with over twenty years of practice as a lawyer, when he disappeared on April 15, 2005.
In 2011 he was declared legally dead, even though his body never appeared, although if his car and some of his personal effects, with the exception of the cell phone. His laptop was in a nearby river, completely damaged.
It was presumed that it had been a question of kidnapping and homicide , perhaps related to a case of sexual scandal affecting the Pennsylvania State University, but nothing could be proven.
His case became a bit worse in 2009, when an investigation conducted on the home computer led to several pages that reported about how to destroy with certainty the hard disk of a computer. This clue suggested that it might not have been a homicide, but a voluntary disappearance .
Certainly, as in the other five cases, that of Gricar remains a mystery that, at the moment, has no resolution.
What explanation could they have? If you are interested in the mystery, surely you like the case of the missing girl who returned 50 years later.
