In some western works of art centuries ago we find captured strange flying objects that, at present, we easily identify as UFOs.That these drawings can really be we cannot know, but it is curious to know another culture that also represented in his art and described in his literature artifacts that could cross the skies .Join us to discover the Vimanas, the flying Hindus machines that some believe UFOs and others pure imagination.
Vimanas, Hindus flying machines
The word "Vimana" means "chariot of the gods" or "celestial chariot" and is used according to Sanskrit tradition for the transport of the gods across the sky .For that reason, many temples in southern India are finished with small constructions called Vimanas. As a dome-shaped hat crown the buildings dedicated to the gods , maybe waiting to transport them from one place to another.
Many stories in Sanskrit literature, written over 2,000 years ago, speak of those mythical flying machines known as Vimanas, and the defenders of the hypothesis of the Ancient Astronauts have wanted to see in them the proof that in ancient times, also India was visited by astronauts from other planets .
Sometimes these mysterious vehicles or cars, according to Hindu mythology, were used in the war, and in the Ramaiana the flower vimana is described as the demon Ravana owned and with which he could fly and to which Rama got on to move with all his court:
«Rama ordered the vehicle to leave and Kuvera's incomparable car rose to the same breast of the heavens. The car was flying like a big cloud pushed by the winds.»
Among the various descriptions of Vimanas, we know that the sun god travels in a luminous and other gods did it in vimanas pulled by animals or with wheels. There are many different sizes and shapes: large, small, with the appearance of cars, floats, thrones and even complete buildings .
The defenders of the ancient astronaut theory claim that the descriptions that Sanskrit literature makes of vimanas, is very similar to those that have made people who claim to have seen UFOs and from there deduce that India was visited by aliens in the past, so these vivid descriptions are not the result of imagination, but the result of real observations .
The detractors claim that they are not so many times that the vimanas, the flying cars of the gods, appear in Hindu literature and that bad translations of the texts have been made, so that the theory of ufologists is based on falsehoods .What do you think? Are vimanas the result of imagination or do you think some of them are representations of UFOs that came to Earth thousands of years ago?
