Dudleytown, the "village of the damned"

In Connecticut , in the municipal district of Corwell, are the remains of Dudleytown .This small village surrounded by mountains, now almost completely disappeared, is known as the town of the damned and its ruins are a Visited only by hikers or ghost hunters.Dudleytown's story begins in 1737 when it was founded by one Thomas Griffis, although the name was taken from three brothers named Dudley a couple of years later, however, the curse goes back 400 years, to the England of Henry VIII, and apparently crossed the ocean and was taken to America by those three Dudley brothers in the 18th century.

According to local legend, the three founders descended from Edmund Dudley who was beheaded after death of Henry VII, by order of Henry VIII, accused of treason.At the time of his death, in addition to losing his head, he received a curse that extended to all his descendants.
